Doug Day and Mike Chambers grew up in Cecil County, attended local schools, went to college together and worked in the building trades before founding Autumn Builders in 1993.
Their story
Friends since grade school.
Before starting Autumn Builders, Doug and Mike worked for other home-building contractors in Maryland and Delaware, learning every facet of residential construction. In the company's early years, they describe working 18-hour days and handling much of the work themselves.
Over time, they built long-standing relationships with subcontractors who share their standards for workmanship. Both owners remain personally involved on job sites, from mechanical systems through drywall, cabinetry and trim.
